STEVE MARSHALL-HILTON

Steve studied fine art at Doncaster and Advertising Design at Chesterfield. After selling his soul for commercial gain with 30 years as a successful Creative Director in the advertising industry he has now returned to his roots by setting up Gallery-S with his wife Su.

His first love is life study and he has a large collection of works produced over many years at various workshops around the region.

STEVE’S STATEMENT

After thirty years of working creatively to tight briefs to meet the needs of very demanding marketing directors it is nice now to have the freedom to please myself and if along the way I can make a customer happy, what a bonus.

The creative process now is about the heart and not the mind. I have equipped myself with the necessary experience, knowledge and skill to allow (when I’m in the zone) the inner soul to take over and that’s when I produce my valid work.

This happens most readily in lifeworkshop, my ambition is for it to happen whatever the subject matter.
